Community business, churches, schools, and civic organizations come together in the spirit of holiday cooperation and fun at the annual Holiday Street Parade. In its 41st year, the parade is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. with participants proceeding north on Federal Highway from S.E. 8th Street to Mizner Park, marching to the theme of “HAVING A BALL IN BOCA.” Join the line-up of many local marching bands and choirs, entertainers, dancers, cheerleaders, baton twirlers, various drill teams, and a wide array of colorful floats as they brighten the season!. Sun-Sentinel’s 20-foot delivery dog will join the parade lineup, along with some other participant surprises. Best viewing will be at a bleacher area in Sanborn Square just north of Palmetto Park Road. The Police Athletic League 11th Annual Mile Run will precede the parade (7:20pm), along with entertainment located at various locations along the route.
The parade event is sponsored by The Boca Raton Tribune, Sun-Sentinel, WRMF 97.9, Florida Health & Chiropractic Medicine, Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District, and the City of Boca Raton.
Installation of barricades will begin at 5:30 p.m. for street intersections on Federal Highway from North Mizner Blvd south to Camino Real; Federal Hwy will be completely closed down by 6:30 p.m. from Glades Rd to Camino Real; alternate route is Dixie Highway; Mizner Blvd remains open except for entrances onto Federal Hwy which will be closed; streets off Mizner Blvd traveling in the easterly direction will remain open.
