Old Town Hall: Home To The Boca Raton Historical Society
Designed by Addison Mizner, Town Hall opened its doors in 1927 on Federal Highway and included
all municipal services and served as headquarters for the fire and police departments, the mayor’s
office and council chambers. As the city grew in the early 1960’s, Town Hall no longer was large
enough, and, in 1969, Boca Raton opened a new City Hall on Palmetto Park Road. Soon after, a major
renovation restored the building to its original design. Today, the hall houses the Boca Raton
Historical Society.

Mona Martin Gallery
The Mona Martin Gallery represents internationally renown artist Jean-Claude Gaugy, the “Father of Linear Expressionism” exclusively in Florida. Jean-Claude was born in France in 1944 in a small town in the Jura Mountains. He went to Paris at the age of 14 where Salvador Dali discovered him drawing portraits in an exclusive supper club. Dali gave Jean-Claude his first show in Paris at the age of 15. Jean-Claude studied sculpture at the Beaux des Artes in Paris. He translated that sculptor’s training into his signature style of carving on 1/4″ mahogany plywood, then applying many layers of acrylic paint bringing the subject to life. Jean-Claude is semi-retired, now living in Boca Raton, FL.
